    Course details

    Course Overview
Capital (Investment) Projects are Industrial, Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Real Estate Development, Infrastructure, Heavy Construction, Utilities, Engineering, and Construction Projects

    Course Description
This course (workshop) covers the essentials of project management but with a focus on capital investment projects1. In general, generic courses for managing projects are typically deficient for the capital investment projects. Even PMI’s PMBOK® Guide does not include all the knowledge areas and processes necessary to, effectively, manage capital projects.
To start,Sukad built this course on a SUKAD internally developed and proven model that aligns to global standards and the practices of global leading conglomerates. Projects in these industries are complex, take a long time, and require a large number of engineers, construction workers, and management team; even the small projects still has numerous stakeholders.
During the workshop, we follow the methodology that reflects a holistic view of projects, a project life span approach that starts with the project idea (business case) and does not end until post project closure. The model emphasis that project management must follow a disciplined approach (stage gates) while maintaining the necessary flexibility that is necessary since not all projects are the same; one-size does NOT fit all!
The workshop also builds on global standards from PMI, IPMA, GAPPS, and the Construction Industry Institute (CII).
Note 1: Capital Investment Project refers to projects that typically include the construction of a facility. The facility could be a plant, refinery, real estate development, power plant, dams, bridges, transportation, and similar projects of all sizes and complexity.
